In 2004 the rights to the majority of these imprints (trademarks) were reassigned to sister company EMI (IP) Ltd. (an intellectual property holding company for EMI Group Plc)\r\n\r\nIn September 2012 following the acquisition of ultimate parent [l1330982] (formerly known as [l1032063]) certain US and select international interests, including Virgin Music Group Ltd.,  [l26760] were acquired by Vivendi S.A. (the owner of the various companies that form part of the [l=Universal Music Group]), with the bulk of the EMI Records Ltd. catalog being merged and spun off to be sold. \r\n\r\nThe company remained an immediate subsidiary of EMI Ltd. until it was sold on 20th Dec 2012 to PLG Holdco Ltd.
